Kate has been selected as a Champion for the Big Energy Saving Network for the sixth consecutive year. Run by the Citizens Advice, the initiative means that we will have funding to offer practical energy saving advice and support through community groups and one-to-one home visits in the Selby District.
We will be targeting vulnerable groups such as the elderly, those residents with a mental or physical disability or illness, and families with young children. This is with a view to helping people switch to a cheaper energy supplier or tariff, making applications for grants to help with energy costs and signposting to schemes for energy efficiency improvements.
Big Energy Saving Week
Big Energy Saving Week is a national campaign to help people cut their fuel bills and get all the financial support they are entitled to. It is a partnership between Citizens Advice, the Department of Business Innovation and Skills and the Energy Saving Trust and will run from 20th to 26th January 2020.
This year we will be delivering a series of energy saving events around the Selby District so watch this space for dates and times of when we are coming to a venue near you!
