Through our Awards for All funding we have been starting to find out what people think about the service we offer to help with energy bills and have received some lovely comments, some of which are shown below:

We have already had a taste of cold winter weather this year and it is only the beginning of December. My wife feels the cold very much and needs to keep warm. I now feel that we are getting the best deal for our fuel bills and am more confident that we will be able to turn the heat up when the weather is cold. Kate worked hard for us throughout her visit, we wouldn't have known how to have found out the necessary information without her help. Kate taught me to read gas and electricity meters and gave me the confidence to now ring round insurance companies and get a reduction in car insurance. These were things my late husband did and which I was very unsure about (Church Fenton)

It is important to get such feedback as one of the real difficulties with reaching people who could benefit from our help is trust. Cold calling around things like boilers, solar panels, insulation and by energy companies has generated distrust and perceptions of 'what's the catch'. We know that there isn't one in terms of the service we offer but completely appreciate why people might feel like that. Hopefully by sharing comments by people who have benefitted (and who at one point were probably sceptical themselves) will encourage more people to get in touch and receive support.
