In January we were awarded our second pot of funding from Northern Gas Networks Community Promises Fund. This is allowing us to provide carbon monoxide training to frontline staff across North Yorkshire. In the past this has proved an excellent way of cascading information further afield via staff who are already visiting vulnerable residents in their homes.
So far we have delivered 7 of our 15 staff training sessions to the following organisations:
Through this training we have reached 61 members of staff and, in addition to the carbon monoxide training we have bolted on an additional section on energy schemes for vulnerable households at 5 of these 7 training sessions.
In an exciting development we have also seen links develop between KeyRing and Northern Gas Networks. KeyRing are running a Home Alone 100 Voices campaign to support 100 people living alone in North Yorkshire who have learning disabilities or autism. NGN have been able to provide scratch and sniff gas cards to support this campaign.
