Managing energy costs

Community buildings

Do you find that the costs of gas and electricity make up a significant proportion of the running costs of your community building? Village halls, community centres, village institutes and religious buildings all represent vital community hubs yet all suffer like households when energy prices continue to rise. Previous experience shows that reviewing your energy charges and monitoring energy use can bring immediate cost savings. Looking at ways to reduce energy demand and integrating energy efficiency measures into funding proposals can also enhance the longer term sustainability of a local facility.

We can offer the following services to community buildings:

  • Benchmarking of your energy use and analysis of energy tariffs
  • Mini energy audit to identify energy saving opportunities
  • Full energy audit including analysis of energy use, review of tariffs, quantification of energy saving opportunities and identification of possible renewable technologies
  • Energy awareness training

These can also provide important supporting evidence for grant applications. Please contact us if you are interested in any services we can provide to community buildings.

Community groups:

We can come along to your group to give advice to your members about saving energy, reducing energy bills and being warm and well at home. This could be through a talk, hosting a stand or running a workshop. This is usually free of charge providing it falls under one of our grant-funded projects.
