We may be in the middle of summer but we're gearing up to support more vulnerable households with their energy costs over the winter.

The government's price cap is due to increase from 1st October by as much as £100 year, following a similar price rise in April. Add this to the extra 600,000 people who are in debt with their energy supplier compared to pre-pandemic and we can predict that many people will struggle to pay their energy bills next winter.

We are looking for people from community groups and voluntary sector organisations across Yorkshire, the Northeast and Cumbria who are trusted contacts within their communities and networks. This is to help spread the word on schemes available to support households, ways people can save energy in the home, how to manage energy bills and how to stay safe and well over the winter.

If you already support vulnerable groups and/or are part of local community networks then we would love for you to join our network of Community Energy Ambassadors.

Please note that our courses are held on Zoom and are free to anyone based in Yorkshire, the Northeast or Cumbria, thanks to funding from Northern Gas Networks.

Next course dates:

We would need a minimum of 8 participants to do this. Please contact Kate to discuss further: kate@yorkshireeenergydoctor.org.uk or call 07738 818391
