Thanks to funding from Northern Powergrid’s Community Energy Seed Fund we are able to help two Selby communities save energy and money.
All parishes in Selby District were invited to apply for this free support and we have selected two villages to work with. The first of these successful communities is Cridling Stubbs, a small village of 83 households in the south of the Selby District. Energy use is a key issue for the village as it is not on the mains gas network and households have to rely upon more expensive heating types such as electricity, solid fuel, LPG or oil.
Members of the Village Hall Committee are strongly committed to improving the energy efficiency of their building and we will be providing a full energy audit to look at heating and insulation options and a number of other ways to manage energy costs.
We will also be offering energy advice to local residents through home energy visits and a community event.
Watch this space for further progress on this exciting new project in Selby.
