Are you involved with a community group?
We can come along to your group to give advice to your members about saving energy, reducing energy bills and being warm and well at home. This could be through a talk, hosting a stand or running a workshop. This is usually free of charge providing it falls under one of our grant-funded projects.
Specific projects:
Heating for Health
We have given in-person talks at groups such as Parkinson’s Support York, Dementia support groups in Selby and mental health support groups, and attended information events organised by Primary Care Networks. We can also offer online talks to groups anywhere in North/East/West Yorkshire or the Northeast.
Energy Outreach Programme
This project aims to get out and about into the community to reach households who may not seek out energy advice. Last winter we delivered sessions for residents of permanent Gypsy and Caravan sites, attended drop-in groups run by the Refugee Council, delivered drop-ins at Selby Food Bank and Selby Community Fridge, and linked energy advice with slow cooker workshops for Homestart in Goole and Selby.
