We are excited to be working together with Yorkshire Water to support households who are facing challenges paying their water bills.
Recent figures from the Consumer Council for Water showed that an additional 199,000 households fell into debt in 2024/25, with 2.85 million customers now in arrears with their water supplier. This is despite increasing numbers of households accessing social water tariffs.
Through partnering with Yorkshire Water, we will be able to directly refer households in North and East Yorkshire to Yorkshire Water to access support schemes that can reduce ongoing water costs and provide debt relief. These include:
Water Support: Reduce your water costs to £35 per month or less if your household income is under £26,000.
Yorkshire Water Community Trust: Help with water debt if you’re also managing a priority debt like energy, council tax, or rent.
Resolve: A debt relief scheme for arrears that go back more than 12 months.
Priority Services Register: Sign up if you have a medical condition, other vulnerabilities, and a dependency on water.
