Community Energy Adviser x2 (East Riding)

£27,334 (pro rata)

15 – 30 hours per week (2 positions)

Fixed term contract (end date: 31st March 2026)

From 1st April 2025, and thanks to funding from Northern Gas Networks, we will be starting an exciting new ‘Warm Homes Healthy People’ project to extend our offer of energy advice into East Riding of Yorkshire (as defined as the area covered by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, this excludes Hull).

We are looking for two Community Energy Advisers who can

  • raise awareness of our energy advice service in the East Riding area
  • deliver energy outreach sessions to community groups, and
  • provide 1-2-1 practical advice, support and advocacy to help households reduce their energy bills and be safe, warm and well.

There will be a specific emphasis on supporting older people in this area.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, empathetic and wants to make a difference to people. You will have excellent communication skills, an understanding of the current challenges facing low income and vulnerable households, and experience of working in the voluntary sector and/or within local communities. Knowledge of energy saving issues and ways to reduce bills is desirable, but training and support will be provided.
